Redwood Grove Apartments
Redwood Grove is a small, quiet community for incoming transfer students. Eligible transfer students must be 23 or older. Each apartment has a living room, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom. Ground-floor apartments have decks, while upper apartments have private balconies.
Trans-inclusive Housing for continuing students and transfer students is also located at Redwood Grove. These apartments are available to students of any college affiliation. This Trans-inclusive Housing option is for students above the first-year/freshman level; students accepted into this housing option do not need to be 23 or older.

🏠 Housing & The Residential Colleges
One of the defining experiences for students at UC Santa Cruz is our residential college system. Year-after-year, our alumni identify their residential college experience and student group involvement as central to their core identities and connection to campus. The people you will live with in these communities, the shared experiences, your growth academically and personally, are all fostered by the close-knit, home-away-from-home structure our residential colleges provide.
These ten communities, each with their own academic themes, architecture, activities, location, and support resources, provide a neighborhood for your lived campus experience. By design, our residential colleges are not connected to any specific major. This provides a wonderful opportunity to interact, live, and learn alongside fellow banana slugs from different backgrounds, countries, and experiences.

UC Santa Cruz has a variety of departments focused on the wellness and safety of the campus community. Additionally, campus boasts 60+ Blue Light Emergency Phones located all over campus, connecting callers directly to the Dispatch Center, notifying police or fire personnel to respond as appropriate. UC Santa Cruz Police Department - UCSC officers possess the same authority under the law as municipal police officers patrolling the campus 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Clery Act compliant.
On Campus Fire Station - Fire station on campus, providing protection and life-saving services.
CruzAlert - The UCSC emergency notification system used to quickly communicate information to you during emergency situations.
Community Safety Officers - Trained in emergency response, first aid, CPR, and disaster response, ensuring a safe and secure living environment for all students.
